Attendance & Illness Procedures
Arrival
Our school day begins at 8:55am. If your student arrives after 8:55, please plan to walk them into the front doors and sign them in with the main office.
- If a student arrives after 10:30am, they will be considered absent for the morning.
- If your student arrives by 10:30am, they will be considered Tardy.
Dismissal
Our regular school day ends at 3:58pm. If you need to pick your student up before the end of the day, you will need to sign them out in with the main office.
- If a student leaves before 2:30pm, they are considered absent for the afternoon.
- Please plan to alert the front office if your student needs to be picked up early. You can call the main office at 248-726-4100
Illness Recommendations
If your student is feeling unwell in any way, please keep them home from school.
- If a student has a fever of 100.4 or higher, it is recommended that they remain at home for 24 hours once the fever has subsided, without the use of fever-reducing medications.
- If a student has vomiting or diarrhea, it is recommended that they remain home for 24 hours after the vomiting or diarrhea has subsided before returning to school.
- If you have specific questions related to illnesses, please contact your student's primary care physician, or contact the main office at 248-726-4100.
Reporting a Student Absence
- In ParentVUE, click on the Attendance tab found on the left side, then click on the Report Absences button, enter the date and reason (flu, cough, cold, fever, family emergency, doctors appt, etc.) for the absence then click on Save to submit the absence.
- Call the Meadow Brook Attendance Line at 248-726-4110 to report the absence. Please give the child’s name, teacher’s name, date and reason (flu, cough, cold, fever, family emergency, doctors appt, etc.) for the absence.
Food Services Information
Daily meals, free of charge, are available to all K-12 public school students in Michigan.
**If your child wants milk only, it can be purchased for 50¢ in the cafeteria.
Cafeteria food service (breakfast and lunch) is provided through Chartwells and will be available on regular school days. Menus can be found here.

If you'd like to complete a paper application, please come to the food service office located at 1402 W. Hamlin Rd. Rochester Hills, MI 48309 between 9am-3pm, M-F.
*Families are encouraged to continue to fill out the online application for Summer EBT and Education Benefits for MI School Meals Program for the 2023/24 school year. A new application is required at the beginning of each school year.
Applications for this program also support the district beyond food service including Title I and 31a funding. This program also connects families to additional community resources including Blessings in a Backpack, Neighborhood House and possible individual support for district programs.
